Thanks, Jamie, for the invitation!
So, Heather, tell us about your book.
A Taste of Chardonnay is Book 1 in the Napa Wine Heiresses series, followed by A Taste of Merlot, A Taste of Sauvignon, and a Taste of Sake. I’m having so much fun writing about how these strong sisters discover their life’s work and fall in love.
And your hero? Gorgeous Ryder McBride is Hollywood’s hottest male star. But appearances aren’t always what they seem. There’s more to Ryder than meets the eye. Much more.
When and where is the story set? A Taste of Chardonnay is a contemporary romance, set among the vine-combed hills of the beautiful Napa Valley.
What should we know about Ryder? After his dad died battling a fire at a migrant worker camp, Ryder was working nights as a bartender, struggling to get his degree at San Jose State. Thanks to his scholarships, his tuition was taken care of, and he ate for free at the bar. But he had no clue that back home, his mom and siblings were barely scraping by. When he came home unexpectedly one day and found a pile of overdue bills, he knew he had to do something. But what?
When Ryder goes to church to pray for answers, he’s spotted on his knees by big-time talent agent, Amy Smart.
Almost overnight, Ryder becomes Hollywood’s hottest leading man. But deep down, he’s still just a humble guy who had to post-pone his sociology degree to help out his family.
What is the main conflict? When Ryder enters a marathon on behalf of a fire-fighters’ charity, he’s forced to compete with Chardonnay St. Pierre, daughter of Napa Valley’s most notorious vintner. Though sparks fly between him and Char, he resists. Growing up middle class in Napa, he’s heard the rumors about the St. Pierres. He has no respect for rich, pampered wine princesses—that is, until he gets to know the real Char, and finds out that heiresses have problems, too.
What is the personal goal of the character? All Ryder wants is to do is earn enough money acting to pay off his mom’s mortgage and go back to school so he can ultimately work as a sociologist, helping people. But once he starts tangling with Char, things get…complicated.
I want more! How can we get the book? A Taste of Chardonnay is available OCT. 13, 2014 in print and digital. Click here for print or kindle: http://amzn.to/1u3zFhF or click here for Nook: http://bit.ly/1u3zIKq
And now I’d like to invite another Heather to continue on our blog hop.
Please welcome Heather Heistand!
Heather Hiestand was born in Illinois, but her family migrated west before she started school. Since then she has claimed Washington State as home, except for a few years in California. She wrote her first story at age seven and went on to major in creative writing at the University of Washington. Her first published fiction was a mystery short story, but since then it has been all about the many flavors of romance. Heather’s first published romance short story was set in the Victorian period and she continues to return, fascinated by the rapid changes of the nineteenth century. The author of many novels, novellas, and short stories, she is a bestseller at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. With her husband and son, she makes her home in a small town and supposedly works out of her tiny office, though she mostly writes in her easy chair in the living room. She also writes as Anh Leod.
